Enjoyed your web site. I have two sons who wrestle, their
father is the High School Wrestling Coach. Our youngest is a Senior and looking
to go to college to Wrestle. Our oldest Wrestled here at Lassen College then
went on to school, UofH even though they do not have a team he is thinking of

Try not to judge California Wrestling by the 103 weight
group. Since the creation of the Sr. Nationals, California has placed in the top
four every year. In addition, we have won this big event twice. I'm not going to
argue about which state is tougher. N w Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio,
and Oklahoma are all elite states. Even before the Dapper Dan conflict, our boys
performed well among the top wrestlers in the country. How many other states can
send kids to this event, who placed no higher than th rd at State, yet, still
earn All-American status. Out of fourteen All-Americans, seven of them placed
third or lower at our state. Since New Jersey and New York conduct a one
division tournament, they have the depth to do this. We had one Wild card entran
, Matt Sanchez make the finals. He placed eight in California. To make the
finals, he had to beat several state champions. So, with that said, it's not
about who's better, it's about competiting at the elite level.
